The general idea behind this project came from a huge lack of resources to prepare well for upcoming foreign language exams such as Chinese HSK and Japanese JLPT. It was obvious to me, that small number of paper-based resources is too limiting for people, who would like to have their foreign language exams passed. The biggest challenge I have faced during the study time, was that I had never felt fully prepared for the exams, as most of the textbooks focus on learning vocabulary by heart with ten up to twenty reading materials per book. That was not enough.

Surely, people may say that the content we deliver is too generic, or our stories are too short – however have you ever managed to sit and read all 10 paragraphs from a text from your workbook, when out of 2000 Chinese or Japanese characters you still had 50-100 new words to learn, that were the essence of a chapter at the end of the whole day? And suddenly, once used, the next time you saw them was during the exam? That is what I felt like, during my preparation for both JLPT and HSK exams. Despair, lack of time and practice.

The general idea does not stop at generated short stories but will soon evolve into a better place with tons of content to get prepared for the exam. The form of this site and soon app will never take a word-learning approach. That is learner’s job to be done.
